Ever since I was young, I was taught that sportsmanship was one of the best qualities a person could have, and I believe that’s exactly why I attracted to volleyball. This sport has taught me many life lessons, one being that you cannot be a good athlete without sportsmanship and team work. In volleyball, you need a good pass, good set, and good hit to score a win for your team. And you need to appreciate the opposing team for giving you the opportunity to enjoy the moment.
Being a part of any team in volleyball, during school season or club season, has only grown my love for every aspect of the sport. My dream is to play at the collegiate level and continue on my ambition for volleyball. Academics have always been an easy achievement for me. Whether in mathematics or English, I have achieved high grades and have been on the high honor roll or honor roll. If I continue my studies the way I am currently, which I do plan on, I believe I am on a good path to not only go to a good college, but to achieve my dream of playing college volleyball.
I found my passion for the libero position when I started my freshman year season. I had just made the JV team and my coach had already had eyes on me for that position. Being introduced to the libero position was one of the best moments that I’ve experienced. Being able to control the back row and be the defensive star for your team is an unexplainable feeling. Volleyball has changed the way I’ve viewed many details of my life. Every aspect of my life is seen as a volleyball game because when I’m down, I know there is a team to help me succeed.
