I would like to continue playing volleyball after high school at the post-secondary level because I truly love the sport. I started playing volleyball in grade 7 and started setting in grade 8. I started to play club volleyball in grade 8. In grades 8 and 9, I played for the Melfort Volleyball Club. In grade 10, I switched to the Prince Albert Volleyball Club and that is where I am currently playing. The highlight of my club experience thus far was playing in the 16U National Championships in Regina in 2019. In grades 9 and 10, I was the starting setter on my school team when we won the district championship. In grade 11, as the starting setter, I led my team to the provincial championships. I pride myself on my leadership and communication skills. Through my many athletic experiences I have gained the experience required to lead teams through important matches on large competitive stages.
My entire life I have been actively involved in sports. I played hockey for nine years, speed swam for five years, competitively wakeboarded for four years, started track and cross-country running in grade 7, and began badminton in grade 8. I have won numerous district titles for my running, but the highlight of my career thus far was winning the Silver Medal at the Canadian National Wakeboard Championships for Girls in 2016.
I want to continue my education by pursuing a degree in either pharmacy, finance or kinesiology. Besides playing volleyball competitively, I fill my time with a part-time job as a lifeguard and playing recreational badminton. During the off season in the summer, my time consists of wakeboarding, surfing and playing golf. Lastly, it is my goal to continue my volleyball career at the collegiate level while studying post-secondary education.
