My passion is sports and always has been. When someone asks me what my favorite sport is, my answer is volleyball always. High school competition has never been enough for me. I want something to further challenge me and my abilities; university level competition.
As an athlete I have competed in hundreds, maybe thousands, of tournaments and competitions for the various sports I play, with immense success in many of them. I have 6 Provincial medals that I have collected over the past 3 years in 4 different sports: badminton, track and field, volleyball and cross country running. There is not one other person in the province of Saskatchewan at my age that can say they have accomplished this same thing. All of these sports have made me the athlete I am today. Being a multi-sport athlete is tough but the skills from all of them carry over to make me the best possible person I can be.
On the many volleyball teams I have played on in the past I have had coaches tell me they have never coached anyone like me before. I have also had many people, sometimes strangers, come up to me after watching games of mine and ask what my plans for volleyball are in the future are. People around me can see the potential I have in this sport and I hope that the coaches of university teams can too. My leadership, mental toughness, positive attitude and constantly smiling face on the court carry in to the players and people around me. My never give up personality makes sure that no ball is going to hit the floor. On most of the sports teams I have played on I have received the award of MVP. When I receive this award it is because of my coachability, always ready to play attitude, willingness to learn, and the fact that I will never give up.
I'm thankful to my coaches over the years and my parents who have supported me to make me the person I am. I know I have their full support moving forward into my dream of playing on a university level volleyball team.
