Denae Bristow '22 Recruiting Profile

I believe that my extensive Highschool, Club and Canada Games training experience and knowledge will prove to be an asset to your exclusive Volleyball Program.  I have been coached by some of the best coaches and played with some of the best volleyball players in Saskatoon and the Province of Saskatchewan. 

My life choices, my work ethic and my passion for the game have all shaped me into who I am today.  I believe that all of these things give me the growing experience and developing knowledge to meet all of the qualifications that you require. 

Winning a championship is done by properly recruiting good players and people, which I believe I am as I set my standard high. My focus includes developing myself both on and off the court and in the classroom, applying the life skills I continually learn of teamwork, commitment and discipline which I believe will help me achieve both my educational and athletic goals.

I am a good leader, a positive team motivator and I understand the game and can effectively communicate with my peers and Coaches.  I am passionate about being in a positive environment where I can learn and develop my skills to the best of my ability and most importantly have fun doing it! I work hard to be a good role model within my community and amongst my peers and I believe that whatever I do off the court transfers to my court performance and my grades.  Technical volleyball skills are the foundation of my success for which I have great confidence in my abilities, but I also know that I make mistakes sometimes to.  By staying calm and managing through challenges, it only makes me stronger.  I want to grow and experience athleticism at a high level and incorporate my intense work ethic and good sportsmanship skills.  My expectations for myself include respect for myself, my coaches, my teammates, their parents, my school and the game itself.  I exhibit responsibility, accountability and disciple both on and off the court.  The entire team aspect together with the buy-in factor are both equally important and I feel that these are two of my strengths!  My goal is to become a better athlete and a better person each and every day and I try to be the best that I can be at that moment in time, and give it all I have!  My focus is always on the team dream, the success of the team, success of my teammates and my educational potential and of course, that Championship!
