My aspirations are to go to college and be a successful volleyball player and to study a vocation within the healthcare arena or architecture. One thing that my parents have tried to instill in me is to have a growth mindset. I am seeking ways that I can make this ideology applicable. For instance, when I started my freshman year I was challenged to play a position at school that I would not normally play in my previous club experience. I have played setter before; yet, I was not confident in myself to play it again. The support of my parents, teammates and coaches allowed me to become vulnerable enough to accept the challenge and to do my best. I learned I have improved in the position and that will increase my confidence on the court. I have grown as a setter and I am committed to continuously improving and learning more about the position. This has been great for me as I am able to simultaneously work on my leadership skills on and off the court. If you ask my coaches, they will tell you my energy is always high, positive, and encouraging. In addition, I have had coaches and players approach me at tournaments stating they like watching me as a libero. I am seeking a collegiate experience that will allow me to play the game that I love and provide me the opportunity to plan for my professional future.
