My name is Lucia Crespo, and Volleyball is my passion. My main position is middle blocker and opposite. I became interested in volleyball back in 4th grade, it started off in PE class. Our coach taught us the positions, how to play and rotations. Since that day I fell in love with the sport, and it was like something just told me to keep playing it... So I did. I have learned so much about myself playing this sport, and I have also learned how to be patient with myself and others. I have various academic goals, which are my academic goals for high school as a graduate with a GPA of at least 4.0, pass all the STAAR tests in a first try and pass my SAT tests with outstanding scores. To get where I’m at right now, I’ve had to overcome many obstacles. When I started playing I was not the best player. I still have a lot to learn, but I have gotten much better since I started. I know it sounds funny but... I didn’t know how to serve overhand until 8th grade. Now, I can jump-serve. It took a lot of hard work to get where I am right now, lots of summer camp workouts, lots of conditioning and practice. I love volleyball, and I would never ever stop playing it even if I lost my legs and arms. It is my favorite sport, and I hope I can go long ways playing this sport.
