Hi, my name is Melina Gonzalez, a 6 rotation OH for the class of 2026. I have been playing volleyball since the age of 9. Growing up I watched my older sister play and I’ve always loved watching the game and wanted to play myself. I am very passionate about volleyball as well as my academics. I desire to play at the collegiate level where I can accomplish my dreams of becoming a collegiate athlete and a Business Major. I am looking for a school that will meet my athletic and academic needs. I am interested in an academic oriented, adventurous, diligent, and family-oriented athletic program. The Universities that I aspire to attend are Division 1 Universities that carry a strong business program. However, I am open to various Universities!
In volleyball, I am known for my all-around play and consistency on the court. I believe communication is crucial in volleyball in order to win and I am all about winning! I am a very positive, competitive, and energetic person with a contagious personality. I trust that I will be a great fit for the outside position or defense because I love being the one to help my team and end a rally. In addition, I am a six rotation outside and I strive in being an excellent hitter and defensive player!
My coaches have complimented that I have great hands for setting, defense, and serve receive. Over many years of playing volleyball, I understand that the game is about mental toughness. You have to have grit within yourself and discipline to push through when the games become close. I am confident that I can offer any team encouragement, positivity, and a drive for winning. I have always loved encouraging people and I hope that my future teammates will do the same. I look forward to beginning both my college athletic and academic careers in the near future!
