Lauran Richards '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Lauran Richards. It is my personal goal to play outside in college for a competitive D1, D2 University. I am in the class of 2022 with a 4.0 GPA, and I currently play outside/ right side in the North Texas Open Division with the Summit 18 Nike Blue Open Team.

I play for Natalie Puckett at Lovejoy High School,  9X State Champ and the 2021Texas 5A State Volleyball Champions. 

I am 5'8" tall with a standing reach of 7'5” (89”), a block jump of 8‘9.5” (105.5”),  and an approach jump of 9’4”  (Vertical 23 in).  I am an athlete that focuses well and plays with determination, always keeping in mind that there is something to learn every day even though I've played for a while. I like to keep a white belt mindset while building a black belt skill set. I also love challenging myself for the better. Being a part of any team I have worked with is a pleasure and it teaches you that teamwork is as important!  I have played hundreds, maybe even more, games combined with hitting outside, right side, back row, and middle blocker. I have played since I was 7 years old starting out as ASA, moving on to PSA, Club, School, Summer games, and Beach.  I am a highly driven and natural leader/ competitor on the court.  I grew up as a competitor starting out with many sports before volleyball which helped train my body to move efficiently and athletically under extreme pressure.

I am a member of the National Honors Society. We are a 5A school based in North Texas. I have been coached in High School by both Jason Nicholson, Ryan Mitchell, and now Natalie Puckett. Outside of school, I am a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church Youth Group which helps me strengthen my relationship with God even further.
