My name is Madison Robinson and I am a senior at Maypearl High School in Maypearl, Texas. If you've gone through my profile, you'd notice a lack of film. In September 2020 I suffered from an injury that led me to having two different surgeries, which prohibited me from playing for a year. While going through physical therapy and waiting for surgery, I was offered a position to coach a team for my club. The team consisted of young athletes whose love of the sport was just beginning. I was honored to have the responsibility of guiding them and nurturing their growth both on and off the court. At the end of their season, which was the month of March, I had my surgeries. I had a PAO and a hip impingement surgery to fix the pain that was caused by my injury in September. The months following the procedures were the toughest months of my life. I had to relearn how to walk, jump, and run properly. I wasn't able to play the sport that my life revolved around.
Before my injury, I was going to be the Libero for my varsity team, but due to the circumstances another player had to play the position. When I came back, at the end of my senior season and over a year later, I fought hard to be able to play as the Libero. I earned it back and got to finish my senior season. I am a current member of 360 Volleyball's 18 Kaos Red team and previously played in Bandits before 2020-2021. I have been playing in club volleyball for 6 years.
My collegiate goals are to pursue a degree in Physical therapy as well as continuing to play in the sport that I love. I would be a great addition to your team because I'm a leader both on and off the court. I have been team captain for two years now and I lead my teammates by example. I always give 100% and encourage others to as well because not only do I want to compete at a collegiate level, but I want to compete with my peers. Every opportunity that I get, will be an opportunity for me to improve on myself. Volleyball has been my entire life, and I fought hard to be able to play again. My injury has made me realize how much love I hold for volleyball, and I will never leave the court with regrets.
