I began playing volleyball at the age of 11 for our local YMCA and I fell in love with the sport immediately. I moved on to play for a local team that competed at the Club level. The fast-paced level of play, the team camaraderie, the coaching and tournaments have allowed me to grow in ways I didn’t know possible. I knew from the beginning that it would be my goal to play at the collegiate level. I know playing volleyball in college is competitive and requires hard work and dedication. Playing at this level will be a once in a lifetime opportunity that will change my whole life.
Playing defensive specialist and libero, requires me to move fast and think even faster. I am the team’s first line of defensive in breaking serves and making calculated passes so we can score. It is my goal, on and off the court, to be encouraging to all my team mates. Additionally, I am focused, hard-working and coachable.
I apply the mental skills I learn through playing competitive sports to every aspect of my life, including in the classroom. I study diligently to maintain a high GPA. I am self-disciplined and self-driven to complete the tasks necessary to be successful in school.
I would like to attend college to further my education and push myself as an athlete on the court. I am open to all options to find the right the match for both me and my future teammates. I hope to become a role model for my younger brother and sister and to make my parents proud.
