Grateful! One word describes how I feel about playing volleyball both on my school team and club.
Volleyball has been my passion since I was 9 years old and began playing in a recreational league. I was so grateful for that team and all the lessons learned.
Six years later and I am more grateful than ever for playing volleyball for both school and club teams. My opportunities to play volleyball have introduced me to my best friends, allowed me to learn from the best coaches, be on the same court with teammates who share my passion and some of my idols in the sport.
My enthusiasm for volleyball is a result of all the opportunities provided to me by my family, and the North Texas Region to develop my game and every day I am grateful.
Growing my game and pursuing academics are equally important to me. I am passionate about helping people, which is good for both my team and my choice for academics. My goal is to pursue human biology and to continue to play volleyball in college.
Here in the North Texas Region, there is a lot of talent, everything is bigger in Texas! The talent challenges me, there will always competition but as long as I am working hard and willing to learn I am in the best place to reach my goals. I am grateful for these challenges and the level of talent in the North Texas Region.
In 2017 I was able to attend summer camp at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. It was my first time on a college campus, in a college volleyball camp. Coach Kevin Hambly's first season at Stanford the team had won the NCAA DI Championship and I was able to meet my idols in person, Kathryn Plummer, Jenna Gray, Meghan McClure, Morgan Hentz, and Audriana Fitzmorris. The experience changed me forever I continued to follow the team and attended camp in 2018 and 2019. I made life long friends during those camp trips. Grateful sums it up!
Strength and height are assets for the sport. Discipline, dedication and a strong work ethic are my character strengths. I am grateful that I was born this way and have developed a "never give up" perseverance.
I strive to improve, I am not an athlete who believes I have reached my full potential and I am not a student who is complete. I want to learn and grow and I enjoy being around other athletes and students who want to continue growing and learning.
