Shayla Montemayor '22 Recruiting Profile

When I first watched volleyball on television, I knew I wanted to play this sport. I started playing when I was 6 years old and my love for the game has grown each year. I work hard to be the kind of teammate that a coach and fellow players want on their team.  I have a strong court presence; meaning my teammates sense my energy while on the court.  I want to bring positivity and support while having fun playing volleyball. I currently play on an elite club team as well as my high school team.  I plan to major in business with a minor in sports entertainment and management. I love talking to people and learning more about them. Having the chance to play volleyball at the college level would be a dream come true for me. I have a supportive family and they have always encouraged me to follow my dreams. In my free time, I watch lots of volleyball games and spend time with friends and family.
