Hi,
My name is Sarita and I am a junior at San Marcos Academy. I have been playing competitive volleyball since my 7th grade year, and love the sport tremendously. Since my very first season, my skill level has grown significantly. I was a starter on the junior varsity team my freshman year, a starter on junior varsity for half a season, but was put on varsity my less than half way threw my sophomore year, and a starter on varsity my junior year. I played one year of clubs during my sophomore year with Top Flight Volleyball Club in Kyle, TX. Along with this, I have been doing a variation of volleyball camps since my the summer of my 6th grade year. Since then, I have participated in the Karen Chisum Summer Volleyball Camp at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. This past season, I was voted by my team to be the team captain. I loved being able to be a leader for my team. I have been a part of the SASi Leadership Program for the past 2 summers, and have learned what it truly means to be a leader. Having this 2 year experience, I felt that I was able to lead my in a positive way. One thing I told my team throughout the season, was that there is always something good that comes from something bad, you might just had to try a little harder to realize it.
Right now, I have interest in the field of forensic science. I wish to pursue a career in forensic investigation or forensic pathology. My top 3 choices right now are Texas State University, Texas A&M University, and Texas Tech. Given that my family is not one of much wealth, I will most likely attend the school that offers me the best scholarship. I am willing to work as hard as I need to to make sure that I am able to be successful in this.
I am willing to work hard no matter what. I am the type of player who does not give up on anything, ever. One thing that makes me unique, is my character, and the fact that everyone knows me by it. I am always honest, encouraging, supportive, and always have a smile on my face, which is what a majority of people admire about me. Whether it's on the court, or off the court, I strive to be the best person that I can be, and am willing to work hard and fight for that.
Thank you!
