I am very passionate about volleyball and would love to continue to play at the collegiate level. I have been playing club volleyball for 5 years on national teams and I know what it takes to compete at a high level. After every season, I reflect on how I can improve as an athlete for the next season. I set attainable goals. Through my hard work and determination, I have been able to improve my skills. This past Varsity high school season, I was chosen as First Team All-District for 6A Region III District 20 and Honorable Mention All-VYPE Public School Volleyball, and I ranked third in district with 627 digs and 5.6 digs per set. I also received the Leadership Award from my high school coach because I always give words of encouragement and motivation to my teammates both on and off the court. Also, I take constructive criticism seriously as a valuable learning experience, and I apply it on the court or to any situation because it will only make me a better athlete and person. I can't wait to play on a college team, and I hope I can have a positive impact on the team.
Academically, I have been taking rigorous AP courses, earned an AP Scholar Award in 2020, and earned Academic Excellence Awards for 3 years, while participating in high school clubs such as Math and English, and mentoring youth in the Catholic faith, on top of playing school and club volleyball. I have learned how to manage my time wisely. I am confident I will be able to balance academics and volleyball while I am in college. I hope to follow in the footsteps of my older sister, who plays volleyball at the University of Dallas. I also hope to become a role model for my younger sister who plays club volleyball on a national team as well.
