Cheyenne Karr '16 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing volleyball since the spring semester of 5th grade. Since then I have fell in love with the sport. It is my dream to continue playing through my schooling. I have gone to camps, played in summer leagues, and on varsity since my freshman year. It helps me build up my confidence and make friends. 

I do get pretty competitive, it helps me a lot, most of the time, yet at the same time I can get a little too competitive and push people away from me. I have learned to keep my self from getting to that far though. My freshman year of high school was the first year I played tennis. Never before picking up a tennis racket, I ended up getting 2nd place in the JV district of my school.

My grades, they are my first priority before sports. I try my best to maintain straight A's, but if I do get a B, I normally on get one B. The classes I do my best in are English and Science, sometimes really well in History. 

I grew up in a small town, and I have one school in my county that is in a different divison in every sport. The school I go to only has around 57 students, so it makes it hard to get noticed by colleges. That's when in the surveys we started having to fill out at school to help us get noticed by colleges, I would always put down the sports I played in. Later on that year I got emails from colleges, mostly for academics, and only two for sports. 

I would love to major in Law Enforcement, and Criminal Justice, or some where in the education major. I love the idea of teaching volleyball, or going to be in the FBI, but if I do, I really need to work hard in school to get scholarships to help me pay my way through college. We don't really have the money to pay for all four years of college, for me to go to a Uni. or just a simple collage. I really want to be the first person in my family to finish all four years of college. No one in my family has done so. Most of my family members didn't even go to college.
