Sophie Poduska '21 Recruiting Profile

    I have been playing volleyball since sixth grade. As soon as I started I fell in love with the sport. I am a fast learner and apply what I learn quickly. I love working with people, especially my team. I've been captain two years in a row for club season because I love to lead by example. I refuse to be outworked by anyone and I'm known for staying positive even when a game isn't going well. I'm looking for a school that will challenge me both academically and athletically. I'm very dedicated to the sport and have a very strong passion for it. Over the years, I've learned how to manage my time well while balancing my job, extracurriculars, AP classes, volleyball, and religious duties. 

    My high school team struggled quite a bit my sophomore year and through hard work and off season training, I was able to come back my junior season starting varsity and playing all the way around. I am always there for every tournament, off season training practice, open gym, etc. I've been a club captain the last two years and I know I can be good leader, teammate, and player on and off the court!
