Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Hannah and I've been playing volleyball since I was 11 years old. I am looking to extend my volleyball career by competing in college. My passion and love for the game have driven me to become a coachable athlete who is always ready to accept a challenge. I am very dedicated to both my athletics and my academics.
My primary position over the past few years has been middle, but I have gained experience all over the court throughout my volleyball career. I was a setter for the first four years that I played. During this time, I was recognized as team captain on several teams and won the MVP award on my freshman team. I have also played outside and opposite both on my high school team and on my club teams. For the past two years I have primarily been a starting middle blocker on my high school varsity team. This past year I was recognized as a All-League Player. Allowing myself to develop as a well-rounded player has really helped me to realize my true leadership potential and willingness to adapt to any situation I may find myself in. I move fast on the court and have a vertical of 9'4". I am a great team leader and always have a positive attitude on the court.
My desire to excel and improve has become evident not only on the court, but also in the classroom. I have received the Scholar Athlete Award for all three seasons in high school so far. By the time I graduate high school, I will have completed 14 AP courses, as well as several honors courses. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my school career, and am currently ranked among the top 4% of students in my class. I am also involved in several other extracurricular activities. I participate in music and am currently serving as an officer in three community service-based clubs at my school.
I hope to continue to challenge myself and become a positive influence at whatever school I attend. I am willing to put in the work to become the player that any coach may need me to be.
