Hello there! My name is Paige Steele. I've been playing volleyball since I was in 6th grade, so for about 5 years now. My position is Middle blocker/Middle hitter, I have also played some back row as well. I'm 16 years old entering the class of 2024, striving to play volleyball even after my highschool years!
When I was in 6th grade, I tried out for my school's volleyball team! Just for fun, to kind of get a taste of what volleyball was really like. At the time I was also playing softball so in brutal honesty, my passion for volleyball wasn't at its peak. Now granted, trying elementary school volleyball probably wasn't the best choice of a "first glance" But it caught my attention! I then tried out for, Meridian Middle schools volleyball team in 7th grade, and kept my passion for volleyball going!
Growing up I've always had the mentality of, you put your mind to something it will come naturally to you. But unfortunately that wasn't always the case. Just like anyone else I've had to work hard, to become the best at what I do. From, being on the C-team for many years, to being on the Junior varsity, making my way up to varsity, in a matter of months. Some wouldn't count as even an accomplishment, but I would count it as, having determination.
It wasn't easy as many could relate, balancing academics while trying to strive for the best position out there. But I made it work! Throughout middle school I have maintained a GPA of a 3.8 as well as being in, Honor's English, Honor's history, and leadership (WEB crew) Throughout highschool, I have also maintained a GPA of a 3.6-3.7 while being in Honor's English in both my 9th and 10th grade year. Along with being in, UW CHS, volunteering in the schools daycare for a couple hours each day. In addition to applying for AP English, and Yearbook (leadership) for my following years of 11th grade!
In conclusion i would like to thank you for taking the time to read this and as you evaluate my capabilities i hope you take the time to notice that, I love everything i do, i put pride, and dedication into everything i do, i love playing volleyball for the adrenaline it gives me and the number of opportunities I've seized from it. volleyball is something I'm passionate about so i hope you can take the time to consider if i would be the best candidate to play at a more advanced level at your college!
