Personal Statement

Volleyball keeps me looking forward and teaches me how to set and achieve goals and grow my leadership skills on and off the court.  My successful moments as a young player solidified my desire to become a collegiate athlete and take this sport as far as I can go with it.  In Fall 2021, I earned the starting setter position as a Freshman, leading a 5-1 offense. When the 2022 club season started again, our team finished 1st in Power League and earned 3rd place at USAV Nationals, where I was awarded All-Tournament team for the Freedom division.

I approach my academics with the same grit and focus as I do on the court. Whether I am in the classroom or the gym, I strive to show servant leadership, joy, humility, and reliability while keeping it balanced with fun.  My leadership on the court lead me to expand my horizons and I joined my school's Executive Leadership Retreat Board to get beyond athletics and meet new people. I've been given the nickname "Camp Counselor" because I'm always leading the group, cheering them on, and am known to be a trusted friend to talk to.

My Sophomore year academics is a line up including College Chemistry, advanced math, arts, and more AP classes. As for my Sophomore high school season, I was voted team captain and All-League 2nd team. I keep a driven mindset and give 100% of what I have to achieve my best. This includes being a rock for my teammates on and off the court, creating personal connections with my coaches, and obtaining collegiate ready grades.
