Hi, you’ve found your next Libero/Utility player! My name is Kiana Volkmann, currently a junior at Cascade Senior high school in Everett, WA. I’ve been playing Volleyball for 5 years competitively both for my school and club.
Prior to Volleyball I swam competitively for two years. I loved learning and improving the skills to be faster and competing, but once I took up volleyball, a new rich world of working physically together with a team, developing our skills, and court strategy just ignited a fire and passion unique to anything else I'd done.
While the Libero position is best suited for me and provides the challenge and opportunities I most enjoy, I have played all positions around the court. I feel playing beach volleyball in the summers has given me some of that versatility, quickness, court awareness and high volleyball IQ that make me the strong volleyball player and teammate I am.
I am said to boost team morale on the court and on the bench, not just when needed but as a constant vibe. That’s just my personality. Have fun, work hard, support your teammates and never give up. I’ve developed strong interpersonal relationship skills and dispute management skills. I recognize when there’s a time to listen and a time to lead. I have a willingness to learn, and understanding of what it takes to be part of a successful team, as well as each individuals responsibility and role to contribute to the team.
I have maintained a 4.0 while taking a rigorous class load of AP and college classes. I bring hard work, a willingness to learn, and a hungry spirit to my classes and the court. I enjoy volunteering when I can, this year participating in collecting cans for my school’s food drive and helping to run a food service assembly line at a German Student Convention. When not hitting the books or the court, I enjoy playing games with my friends, riding my motorbike in the summer (I’ve been riding since I was 5), and snow mobiling or skiing in the winter.
Dedication, self discipline, solid ball handling skills and a positive enthusiastic energy is what you’ll find in me - giving 110% on and off the court. Playing college volleyball would allow me to strive to a level of competition that’s truly a once in a lifetime experience close to my heart.
