Gigi Young '27 Recruiting Profile

My name is Gigi Young, and I am a well-rounded, six-rotation setter and opposite hitter on the court. I started playing volleyball in the fifth grade, and have fallen in love with the game ever since. I started playing club volleyball in the sixth grade, and since then have made an effort to be a star on the court. I am constantly looking to improve in the game of volleyball both physically and mentally, whether that means showing up to every practice possible, or practicing and improving my skills off the court every day. Because I started volleyball later than most of my peers, my goal is to show others that with hard work, you can accomplish whatever you put your mind to. 

My hard work in the game of volleyball has noticeably paid off. I ran a 5-1 setter rotation on my previous club team. I was team captain and voted MVP for my previous club team. Freshman year of my high school team I was a starter and team captain, leading my team in assists and aces, and voted "Most Inspirational". Not only am I committed to being a good athlete, I am also committed to being a good student in school. I endeavor to not only maintain exceptional grades, but to fulfill my knowledge and education at the same time. Outside of the court, I enjoy painting and baking, and took voice and musical theatre lessons for 6 years. My motto is to focus and work on your goals, and to not stop until you reach what you desire!
