Julia Nichols '20 Recruiting Profile

I began playing volleyball in 7th grade not knowing what to expect. Soccer had been my life, but volleyball was my passion. Since touching my first volleyball, I wanted to take it to the next level. Knowing that that will never reach the height of 6 ft, I decided to put all my effort into my passing. Playing in college will give me an opportunity to be in a more competitive atmosphere. As I continue to watch volleyball matches on youtube, I soon hope to be the one playing and watching myself play. 

 On the court, I am able to read where the attack will take place base off the block placement and where the hitter is facing. I am an aggressive server as well as good at picking places to hit. I am a leader on my team as I was chosen to be captain and try to push my team to be the best that we can. Above from wanting to win, I want my team and I to have fun. I strive to become better and learn from previous mistakes. I am a hard worker who will pursue after every ball. 

I am a running start student who takes a college course while still being a high school student. I study and maintain a good GPA. Apart from studying, I volunteer at my church and with volleyball camps at my highschool.

My aim is to attend a college where that will give me a strong foundation of medicine as well as a strong volleyball program. I am open to many options and want to find a college that is the right fit. I aim to compete in the highest competition level. My objective is to continue playing volleyball while attending a good college and make my parents and teammates proud.
