~~In the 2015-2016 academic year I currently carry a 4 point GPA and my goal is to continue this performance throughout the remainder of my high school. It is my belief that my academics can open doors and give me the opportunity to be part of a collegiate volleyball team. My primary collegiate goal is undecided for while I have preferences I realize I have a lot to learn and experience and it is experiences that will help determine the direction my education will go. I love science and math so they may play a factor in my future studies and degree choice. I was selected to represent my school and the State of Washington at the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders. A second important collegiate goal is to play with a collegiate volleyball team. I love the game and my life on the court has helped to define who I am off the court. My dedication to my education and grades is representative to the dedication and work that I do on the court.
I have and always will be a hard worker. I strive to improve my game and I give everything on and off the court to help any team I am part of. Over the years I have worked with many coaches and I trust and respect all they do and have taught me. If any coach gives me direction on what I need to do better or learn I will give it my all to do what is asked of me. Volleyball has and is a passion of mine. My philosophy for playing volleyball is that I play for the team not for myself. I support my fellow team members on and off the court through the good and the bad. My belief is that the stronger the team is off the court the stronger it is on the court. My current high school 2015 Stats are Sets Played 93; Kills 239; Hitting % .289; Solo Blocks 33; Total Blocks 98; Aces 14. In Washington State Class 4A high schools I placed in Hitting % 7th, Kills 10th, and Blocking 2nd in state.
Giving back to my community is important to me. I love helping with the elementary volleyball teams. Sharing my love of the sport with young girls just learning the sport is a way of giving back what was once given to me. I serve at my church by greeting people Sunday morning with hot coffee. I am part of the morning service team that makes sure hot coffee and doughnuts are ready and available. I also help out in the children’s ministry when they are short handed. I am a member of the Shiloh Hills Fellowship youth group. Fun with other kids younger and older than I who have a strong faith has been a big part of my growth as a person. My belief in God is at the core of everything I am and will become both in and out of school and on and off a volleyball court. It is the center from which I do everything in my daily life and how I commit to the success of any volleyball program I am part of.
