The only thing I was certain of walking into my freshman year was it was going to take relentless training both in the weight room and on the court to make the varsity team. I sipped on the sweet taste success long enough to realize that I had achieved my goal. However, it was quickly soured when I experienced my first varsity loss. The 2018 season shows only one conference win on our record. Even though our record would indicate failure to most people, it only inspired me to push myself, and my teammates harder. Each time we lost I looked forward to practice the next day; I was determined to improve not just physically, but mentally as well. It has been said you either win or you learn, and we learned a lot that season. My growth and development in the upcoming varsity seasons will gauge my levels of personal success. With that being said I am hoping to work with my team to help bring home the state trophy in the next two years before going off to college.
