I cannot express how much I love volleyball through just a statement, I love everything about it. I love the competition, the challenges, and the teams. I started playing volleyball when I was in 3rd grade and my love for the sport has grown ever since. Being a 6-rotation hitter has taught me a lot about being aware about my surroundings and control. I think what sets me apart is my drive to succeed , while also being a great team player, because my goal is for everybody to enjoy playing on the court.
Another trait that sets me apart is my dedication for self-improvement, Since I started playing volleyball I've spent a lot of my free time to improving myself and my game. I had to work hard because throughout my years of playing nothing was just handed to me. I've had to earn my spots on my teams such as when I made varsity as a freshman in high school and I had to work hard to be an two-time FVA all-conference honorable mention and the team MVP. Hitting has taught me a lot about placement offensively but also placement defensively, which are important skills to have when playing volleyball. Hitting has also taught me the value of the passers and setters on my team because without them I wouldn't be able to do my job in the game.
Even though I love the sport, I would like to go to a college where sports and academics are equally important. I am proud to say that I have a 3.8 GPA while being in advanced classes because I don't just work hard on athletics but I also take the time to improve academically.
