Gabby Murray '19 Recruiting Profile

I have always been someone who is extremely focused on my goals, whether that is my academic goals to get a marketing degree, my career goals to get into the music industry, or my volleyball goals to win state and a national championship.  I believe having clear goals and working to get better every day are key to achieving great things.   Like Vince Lombardi said, "The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence. "  

My junior high school season came to an abrupt end this year as I was injured during our conference tournament.  I was unable to finish out the tournament or play in the post season.  However I took this setback as an opportunity to be a leader from the bench and help lead our team to the Regional Championship.  

We finished 31-15 on the year.  I was fortunate to be awarded the Bay Conference Player of the Year, team Offensive Player of the Year, and honorable mention All-State.  I took a lot of pride in my ability to help my team win this year whether at the net, at the service line, or on the bench.   

In club last season we finished 24th in the 16-Open at AAUs and 13th the year before.  I led the team in hitting .390 and killing 60.6% on the year.  I am very determined to continue being a student-athlete in college, ideally for a strong academic school with a strong business program.  

I am VERY dedicated to playing volleyball at a collegiate level, for a school where I can be a leader on the court and off.   I am a player that is always positive and encouraging and looking for a team that prides itself on the character of its players.
