Alexis Gardner '25 Recruiting Profile

I became interested in volleyball watching my older sister and cousins play on club teams, in high school and college. Ever since I was little I have been an athlete on the court. I have learned so much by watching the game, analyzing and breaking down plays while paying attention to detail. I started playing in second grade and experienced my first year of club at age 8 confidently playing the back row ever since. Volleyball has been a very important part of my life and my commitment to the sport has grown every year. Being a libero prepares me to be energetic, decisive, and have great communication skills as I am the person that my team depends on to start out the play. Throughout my years of playing volleyball, I have grown as a team player and as a leader. 

I enjoy the intensity of volleyball and how many opportunities it provides to become a better player and teammate. I take the advice several coaches have shared with me and strive to get 1% better every time I step onto the court. Communication skills and being coachable have prepared me to be an excellent leader on and off the court. Outside of volleyball, I am interested in learning about the opportunities in the medical field, while taking several classes to prepare me for college. 

My goal is to play volleyball at a very competitive level and attend a college that has a strong academic education while pursuing a degree in the healthcare field.
