*DISCLAIMER*
Due to this account being a free account, I am unable to set this account as being committed to a college. I am committed to Carroll University in Wisconsin to continue my academic and athletic career! Thanks to all the coaches who considered me! Feel free to read my bio, but it isn’t needed anymore.
I have only been playing volleyball for 5 years now, since 7th grade. My first club season wasn’t until my freshman year of high school. At a glance it might not seem like I have as much as experience as some of my fellow recruits, but it couldn’t be farther from the truth.
There are a multitude of reasons that set me apart from other recruits, starting with my love of the game. Trophies and winning are awesome, not going to lie, but to me that’s not the most important thing. The most important thing to me is being able to develop into the best volleyball player I can, while maintaining my love for the game. I will always give 110% of my effort while having a positive attitude to go with it!
Additionally, another thing that sets me apart from other athletes is the fight I have within me. I have faced plenty of adversity in regards to my height. My primary position is a middle blocker, but most consider me short. I may be considered short but I will come back at you. Seeing someone taller than me just motivates me that much more to improve my vertical to out-jump them. I will do whatever I can to be faster than them. I will block them. I will hit harder than them. I will grow into the best volleyball player I can be.
Another thing that sets me apart is my flexibility of trying new things. I will do whatever I can for my team. I am willing to play whatever role that needs to be filled while still maintaining skill and passion while doing it. On my teams in the past, as well as camps, I’ve played every position in volleyball at least once. I can pass and serve receive well, I have soft hands, and I’m able to play every position in the front row. My strongest positions are Middle and Right Side, but I can be an all around player if needed.
I would love to continue to play volleyball, not only through college, but for as long as I can. I want Volleyball to be a lifelong sport for me. Having volleyball in my life allows me to remain focused, not only on the sport itself, but my schoolwork as well. As my parents once told me, “Sometimes having a little less time than everyone else can teach you how to value and manage your time better than everyone else.” I have always been a very studious person, but I feel that volleyball brings that trait out in me even more. Like a true student-athlete, student is before the athlete, but they still are cohesive together.
I would love to be able to find a volleyball program where I’m able to not only grow as a player, but as a person as well. I would love to pursue nursing as a career and I would need a school that would have a good program to suit my career desires.
Thank you so much for considering me!
