Personal Statement
My name is Abigail Milby, and I am a strong dedicated student athlete of the class of 2023 at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper Wyoming. I love most all sports and opportunities to compete, however, volleyball is and always will be my number #1 passion.
A Little Bit about Me;
It is difficult to know for sure “what I want to be when I grow up," so I will continue to explore the endless career possibilities available to me. Having said that, I am very interested in psychology and sports medicine. I think it would be amazing to help athletes utilize psychology to improve their sports performances and mental well-being.... Sports Psychologist anyone? Best of both worlds! When I am not competing or training (5 am!), I enjoy spending time with my family and French Bulldog aka “Lumpy.”
I Play;
Outside Hitter for Kelly Walsh HS Varsity Volleyball Team where I was one of only two Freshman moved up in several years. I have also played for various clubs and USA teams since the 4th grade. Some of my best accomplishments to date are having received 1st team All-State and All-Conference awards this past high school season. I have also received 2 Gatorade and 2 Cowgirl Tough awards at the University of Wyoming elite skills camps.
Fun Facts about Me;
I am a military brat and was born in Lakenheath, England. I enjoy all sports and opportunities to compete especially against my older brother (Paddle-board Headstand Record Holder!). Most recently, I have started boxing (great stress reliever!) and pole vault. This was my first high school track and field season due to Covid-19 restrictions and I broke our school pole vaulting record from 2009. This qualified me for state where I placed 2nd and was awarded All-State!
I love being a strong female athlete pushing my body to see all the things it can do, but most of all, my goal and aspiration is to continue to play volleyball at the next level!
