My favorite motto, ever since I was 8 years old has been this: Today I will do what others won't. So tomorrow I can do what others can't.
I am a Three-Sport Athete that keeps Volleyball at the forefront of my athletic focus. In addition to my school season, I play 2 club travel seasons as well. (USA & AAU)
I have been under the guidence of a coach since the age of 2 & 1/2. Starting off my love for athletics competing in gymnastics. I have been blessed to have coaches that taught me that winning at a young age isn't nearly as important as learning the fundamentals and correct techniques. This philosophy has given myself and my teammates the edge we needed for long term success.
I am a natural leader. I tend to fall in that role very easily. I have played on teams where my teammates were/are atleast a couple of years older than me, yet I end up being the voice and leader on the court or in the field.
I was blessed to have parents that coached. Growing up, I would watch as my dad and mom coached their players and I would break down why/what the athletes were doing both on their teams and on the competition. As I grew, I became a strong athlete because I naturally had that interest at such a young age and carried it on with me in my own sports. My court and field awareness has always been very high! I attribute that to my natural curiosity and interest about the techniques that I had in sports ever since I was so young.
Being so competitive has also afforded me the ability to do well in academics. I have never liked failing at anything. So at a young age I began competing with myself to always get the best grades I could in school. I challenge myself to go the extra mile whenever possible and try to set good examples for my peers. Early on, I realized that the athletes I looked up to were always very good students and citizens in our community. I knew one day I would be in their shoes and wanted to make sure that if even one little kid was looking at me, like I looked at those athletes, that they were seeing not just a good athlete but a great student, leader and citizen in my community.
