Personal Statement
I feel like I have been in the pool my whole life. I started my athletic journey at the age of 4. At that time I joined a summer league swim team. I’m pretty sure they let me in because I could swim a 25 and not drown. By age 5 I could swim every stroke. At age 7 I joined a club team (Riptide). I have competitively swam for 7 years. During that time I never missed qualifying for a winter/summer JO. I was also very honored to medal in JO’s. I still train during waterpolo off season with Goldenwest College Swim Team. My world changed before my freshman year when I put my hand on a waterpolo ball. To say that I love this sport is an understatement. Knowing that I am coming late to the game I immediately joined a club team Riptide Waterpolo. I started not knowing anything about the sport to attending and starting at last years JOs. I also started my Freshman year on Girls Varsity team 1. And this year I received the GoldenWest League All -League Award along with Academics Achievement Award. I crossed trained in off season swimming 2 years Varsity and winning 1st place GoldenWest League 100 Breaststroke 2 consecutive years. I know that there are hundreds of girls that have been playing longer then me however I feel I have a lot to offer. Already living almost my whole life as an aquatics athlete I know the hard work it takes to become any elite athlete. I am not burned out on the sport, rather on fire. When I’m not in the water practicing or playing I’m looking up video footage. And a final very important key, I am coachable. I know I have a lot to learn, I’m willing to put in the time and effort and follow the instruction of those that paved this road before me. I know that was a lot, sorry if it was to much. However I am excited as I feel that I have a lot to offer this sport and that it has a lot to offer me. I would be honored if you would consider me for your program. I thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you. Sincerely Angelina Franzetti
