My name is Desyree Arizmendi, RHP in the graduating class of 2021. I’m a student who works hard in the classroom aiming to be an excellent scholar athlete and a great friend. As an athlete, I’m always willing to compete daily to make myself and my team better in order to win. It‘s important for me to put in the extra time in pitching, hitting, conditioning and be there for my teammates in order to win championships.
Covid-19 brought uncertainty and difficult times. However, the desire to win and the will to continue to get better, to compete at the highest level kept on driving me to work harder. Adapting to change has been challenging, from not having open fields to practice or any games to play, to most times pitching without a catcher and into a net. However, I‘ve learned to grow stronger mentally and physically because of it.
Everyday is a gift and I‘m grateful to God, my family and softball. I believe in persevering regardless of how many times you fail and one must never give up because anything worth having isn’t easy to obtain. I look forward to challenging myself on the field, as well as in the classroom, and I hope I am given the opportunity to play for a softball program that will allow me to do so. -Desy Arizmendi, RHP 2021
