Dedicated, hardworking, six feet tall, goalkeeper. Hi! I’m Addy Rodwell, I attend Johnson high school in Buda Texas. This is the part where I am supposed to robotically list all of my athletic and academic achievements but I’d rather dive right into the heart of why I am really here.
I started playing water polo for my high school as a freshman when I was 14. After my first season I officially fell in love. Water polo is what I am meant to do. I quickly joined my club team TXLA so I could play everyday and year round. The goal was to soak up every bit of knowledge I possibly could. The more I played, the more obsessed I became with the game, the strategy, the physical endurance required, the people, the techniques, the sportsmanship, and most over all, the thrill. To this day I still can’t seem to get enough. As a junior classman, and my high school's Team Captain, I consciously strive to lead to the best of my ability and contribute to my team in a positive way. My drive to push myself to the next level and my devotion to this sport is beyond what i could have ever imagined it to be. I feel that the opportunity to play collegiate water polo is absolutely next on my water polo journey. I see the college experience as a challenge to become my best self, in the classroom, in my community and in the pool. I can’t wait to continue to grow as a player and be apart of a team where others share a similar devotion.
