I was introduced to Water Polo by a friend in August 2022 and absolutely fell in love with it! I was able to make our high school varsity team in the first year for it to be recognized as an official sport in the state of Texas (UIL). Our high school team also made the playoffs, but we, unfortunately, lost in the first round. I have also been playing club water polo as often as my schedule allows me. I have a lot to learn when it comes to strategies and my confidence in water polo, but I am excited to learn and get better.
I regularly practice against both 18U girls and boys at our club practices, and that has helped me get used to the "grind" of the game. My club coaches have also been very instrumental in my development. I owe that in part to their experience playing and coaching water polo in California.
I am still unsure what subject I will be studying when I get to college. I have visited a few campuses with my older brother and will visit a few schools during spring break.
I do not like to cut corners. When training endurance/cardio, I try and find the best person in the pool and do my best to keep up with them. I take failure personally and want to be the best in school and in the pool. I encourage my teammates every chance I get.
