My name is Lucia Lucio, I reside in Lupton, AZ as it's my last year being a Senior at Sanders Valley High School. My record is 36-15, I’ve gained the skills of discipline, focus, a strong work ethic, endurance, perseverance and dedication. I love wrestling. Within my years of sports and only 2 years of wrestling. I've grown passionate about the sport of wrestling. I overcame my mental struggles and challenges because of wrestling. Eventually I won and placed in multiple tournaments within my second year, I even lost tough matches but learned from it and got better. For regional's I needed one match to qualify for state, doubt overcame me and I lost my ticket to state. This has been one of my greatest lessons and biggest setbacks of showing my potential. Wrestling gave me purpose. I mean it saved me. It gave me goals and a future to look forward to becoming great while showing what I’m capable of. I'm willing to give everything it takes to become better, I am all in for it. I refuse to let my failures and disappointments define my future. I may not have made it to state but I got very close, I’m driven to continue my journey in wrestling, I really dedicate my whole life towards wrestling and I will keep working towards it until I win. I have set very high goals in wrestling and to get far in it. I’m a hard working person on and off the mat. Whatever hits me the hardest, I’ll get back up and try again. I may not have much resources in my area to compete in freestyle and join camps but I would take every opportunity to compete year round for wrestling. I look forward to starting in a community college for 2 years and transferring to a 4 year university for women's wrestling.
