I have only been wrestling for one year. Throughout my first year, I learned a lot about how wrestling can both be a mental and physical game. Although I was not able to make it to state this year, we are still able to go up there to get our first-ever Girls Academic in the history of Century High School. Last year I got the Presidents award for the first time in my high school years. I faced a lot of challenges throughout my first season, but I persevered and made the best out of my first year of wrestling into a good year, although I did not get the chance to qualify for state last year, I am hoping that I get the privilege to wrestle at state this year. The duration of my Junior season was cut short and was not able to make it to districts nor was I able to qualify for state this year because I tore my left meniscus and was due for surgery. I am very hard working on and off the mat, I have been doing sports since 4th grade and I am looking forward to having a future that includes both academics and sports. I can handle schoolwork and sports simultaneously. Although I might lack some focus in class when being taught by my teachers I am still able to stay on topic. I can usually focus on my own time and get my work done, it's never done late. Last year "I was breathing from a firehose" as one of my coaches would say and was brought on myself, but this year I have had the opportunity to go to many camps and open mats to learn from my mistakes. I am still learning many more moves this season and trying to improve. I am a very coachable person and love getting advice and feedback on how I can fix this move or how I can get out of it from my coaches. My characteristics can be thrown off by many people because they think that I don't like the person, but that's not true people just need to get to know me that is all. Through all the hours that I have spent in high school, I haven't been able to make any good friends that will stick, right now I am more focused on finishing off my Junior year and being able to recover from my surgery.
