I am currently on the National women’s Wrestling team of Jordan, Which is one of the best opportunities I have ever and will ever get. It is always a pleasure to represent my country through wrestling, whether I’m telling people from my country about it, or traveling to another country or at competitions, but I will definitely say the reason I got this opportunity is my exchange year. Two years ago I applied for a scholarship to study in the USA for 10 months through YES Program and few months later I found myself at the airport saying my goodbyes to my country, when I thought about my exchange year, I thought I’m going to live an Amercian teenage dream movie, and it turns out I really did, except I’m not sure if those movies includes wrestling. And hours and hours of drilling while everyone was going out and having fun, or tournaments on the weekends. when I got to the USA I was placed in a small town called Glenwood in the state of Iowa. which some people like to call the world of wrestling. I won’t lie when I got to Iowa I did think it was quite boring, before discovering all it’s hidden gems, and by that I mean, Wrestling. I will always brag about the fact that I was one of the first six girls to ever be on Glenwood‘s first ever Women’s Wrestling team. And wrestle in Iowa for the first year that Women’s wrestling was sanctioned in the state. and being there, I didn’t realize that not only I’m going to go back home and share the American culture, I was going to share the wrestling culture too. and I think I’m doing a great job with that in the moment. and even if I dont get the opportunity to wrestle again the United States. I definitely know I’m going to have the chance to share MY country‘s wrestling culture in the USA one day. And right now I am proud to say that I am a two times Jordan national champion, two times Arab champion, ranked 7th in Asia and 17th in the world. I competed in all these tournaments over the summer just after one and half years of wrestling
