I’ve always dreamed of being an athlete at the collegiate level. I never thought it would happen until my life was changed by wrestling.
Being from rural Nebraska, there are not many female wrestlers, I want to build the sport and be a role model for the younger girls. I currently wrestle boys during high school season, which sets me apart from other girls. Starting my wrestling career on a boys team made me work harder because I felt like I had something to prove, not only to them, but to myself. My naturally competitive drive made me keep pushing even when I felt like I was not going anywhere. Before I knew it, I had this family around me that supported me and my goals.
When high school season was over I competed in girls competitions and discovered that my hard work with the boys had really paid off. While I am not yet earning tournament champion titles, I am adding pins to my record! I have such a passion for this sport and want to continue to learn and develop my skills at the next level. My spunky, competitive spirit keeps me driven to win and grateful for all the opportunities to compete and learn.
