Hi, my name is Ryding Stewart-Grounds. I started wrestling after my brother and coach influenced me to try it, and I fell in love with it. I focus hard on my academics and make sure I am a student before I am an athlete. During school I focus and get my work done, but once I am on the mat I put my full attention on wrestling and getting better every day. One thing I am really working on throughout my high school career is influencing other girls to get on the mat and try out the sport I love. I am really focusing on developing my leadership skills as I form a women's team at my school. I think these leadership skills will serve me and my team well in a college setting. I also play rugby on my off season and will continue to play rugby in my high school career. My goal for the end of high school is to have a 3.6 GPA or higher. I attend Dark horse wrestling club at least 2 times a week to get good mat time on my off season as well as going to camps in the summer. I also love going to off season tournaments with some of my teammates.
