My name is Kenaya Mwehu. I am a 1st generation Congolese-American and 1st generation wrestler for my family as well. Being Congolese and wrestling has changed my perspective on a lot of things, specifically being African and wrestling. I take pride in my heritage and wrestling has taught me a lot of discipline. My goals in college vary. I want to of course excel academically and gain both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, but I want to achieve my sports goals as well. Not only am I a committed athlete to the sport, but I am an encouraging and positive teammate. Whereas many athletes may fall short in the sportsmanship department, I excel. I treat this sport as a sport, but once the match is over the respect doesn't falter. I value respecting my teammates, my coaches, and my opponents as well.
