High school senior with a passion to serve God and others. Seeking to pursue a bachelor's program with aspirations to apply to medical school. Striving to help people and make a positive impact in the community around me. Servant leadership is a foundation in my life through placing the needs of others before my own and giving 110 percent in every aspect of my life in order to lead and influence others through a positive example. As a student in the classroom, an athlete in the community and a member of my church. I seek to display servant leadership in many ways.
First, through setting an example in the classroom, as this is the beginning of success. I work to show leadership in academics by respecting and obeying the teachers and others that God has placed in authority in my life. Integrity in my studies, proper time management, and providing my best effort has remained consistent in the classroom as well as prioritizing academics, because I understand that working hard now will prepare me for success in the future. As a student athlete, I understand that “student” is the priority above all else. I have had the opportunity to compete in football and wrestling all four years of high school while maintaining a high GPA. This year I was recognized as the 2022 Tucson Kickoff Classic Student Athlete. In addition to academics, maintaining a positive relationship and encouraging my peers remains a big part of my life.
As an athlete, I have been blessed to compete at the varsity level for all four years of high school as well as being selected as a captain of the football team for two years and the wrestling team for three. In addition to my responsibilities as an athlete, I also work as a volunteer equipment manager, assisting the football and wrestling coaches with equipment and practice materials. I do these things in hopes to set an example for those around me and the future leaders at my school. I also seek to use my influence as an athlete to show servant leadership in the community. The community has always been a key part of my life and building that “family” relationship has always been important to me. My team members and I have served our community in various ways to include helping elderly people with yard work and other house necessities as well as coaching and mentoring the youth wrestling program at our school.
The greatest influence in my life is church and has been for as long as I can remember. Since the beginning of Elementary School, I have taken every opportunity to invite friends and family to church. I was also provided the opportunity to serve on the youth worship team as a guitar player. In addition, I have also participated in Easter and Christmas plays and well as helping with Fall Festival and any other needs from the Pastor. Believing that Jesus is the Savior of mankind and surrounding myself with people that encourage me and lift me up has been instrumental in my faith. The coaches, teachers, youth pastors, and other leaders God has put in my life have shaped my spiritual life and what I believe. I hope to be that person for someone else one day.
I am seeking the opportunity to compete at the next level while striving to make a positive impact to my team and my community.
