Hello, my name is Mozes Valenzuela-Smith. I’m a Junior at Pueblo High School in Tucson, AZ. I started wrestling in the 6th grade. My dad took me to the Pueblo wrestling room one day, it was at that time, I realized how deep wrestling roots run in my family. I saw my Father’s picture on the State Champions wall he was a state champion and a 2 time state finalist. My grandfather’s picture is also on the State Champions wall, he was a two time state champion. My great uncles all wrestled for Pueblo as well.
I have learned a lot about myself from wrestling. I have learned to push through when I’m tired and never give up. I know there is still plenty to learn, especially going to the next level and continuing my wrestling and academic career in college.
My academic goals in high school/college are to graduate with a 3.0 G.P.A or higher.
In my wrestling career, so far I have had to give up things most people my age are doing like missing friend’s party, having to go to bed early or skipping meals to make weight for a tournament the next day. I also pride myself on being more than willing to do whatever it takes to get to the next level of competition.
Thank you and I strongly hope you consider me for your program.
