Throughout my two years of wrestling at St. Augustine High School, not only have I shown exponential growth as a wrestler, but I have grown as a man. This sport instilled values of discipline, humility, and most of all, Brotherhood. Wrestling has made me a disciplined man. After a realization of my weakness that came to me during sophomore year, I became fully dedicated to the gym. Between football practices, wrestling practices, and homework, I found ways to hit the gym six days a week, for one to two or more hours a day. I still hold this tradition of mine to this day, and I am a better man for it. I have never skipped a practice, lift, or gym session because "I didn't feel like it."I have grown to be a humble man. Looking at loss straight in the eyes, shaking hands with a victor, and watching as his hand is raised is no easy feat. Wrestling has taught me of the beauty in defeat. In every defeat, I become better. whether it's learning from your mistakes, or simply humbling a wild ego, there will always be a determination to get better, a determination to grind, and a determination to become the best that will stem from defeat. Yet, in that defeat, a new attribute is born. Humility. Last of all, Brotherhood. I love my teammates and peers as brothers. Brotherhood is not a term that I take lightly. I exercise This sense of brotherhood by being a leader, picking up my brothers, knowing that if all else fails, I have my brothers to fall back on, and most importantly, making sure that they know they have me to fall back on.
Throughout college, I wish to obtain my DPT and minor in business. As a student-athlete, academics always are my number one priority. As a wrestler, I will strive at all hours of the day to perfect my craft, on and off of the mat.
