Personal Statement

Many people have influenced my life from my dad pushing me to be the best person I can be to my coaches telling me I can work harder than I am currently in practice. I became interested in wrestling in the third grade from my dad. I had only been playing soccer up to that point in my life so when this new sport came to me, I tried it out; and slowly over the years of wrestling I fell in love with the sport, with its companionship and the brotherhood it creates. Through wrestling I have learned that I am able to stay very calm in many situations which has helped me in school while taking tests and interacting with people and life itself.

In high school I would like to achieve a 3.5 GPA, and then when I get to college I would like to achieve a 3.8 GPA and from there earn an undergraduate’s degree in my field of study. My biggest struggle which I am still trying to overcome is myself. I have a habit getting into my own head and overthinking moves and techniques that I know like the back of my hand. This then causes me to make mistakes that I would not normally make because I know them so well.

I believe that I could be a great addition to any team by being able to go against anyone without backing down. Starting to wrestle at an early age has taught me that winning is just as important as the journey to achieve goals, may it be winning a title or achieving  good grades that school year.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
