Wrestling has been apart of my life since I can remember. My dad and uncles used to wrestle when they were in high school but it wasn't until my older was born, who is 5 years older then me, when my family got big into wrestling. Like my older brother, I started wrestling when I was 4 years old but until I was about 14 I found myself struggling to win a whole a lot unlike my older brother who was constantly winning these huge national tournaments and even made it on the 2005 World All-Star team. Despite all those years of losing I never gave up and wanted to be more like my older brother. 2012 was my brothers senior year and he was undefeated going into the state finals match and he ended up getting upset and that hurt him and my family so bad and due to that I promised I will be the first state champ in the family! I dedicated myself to this sport as much as much as I possibly could by going to all these practices, wrestling camps, club teams and tournaments. All that work has payed off for me in high school so far by being a 4X Varsity wrestler, 3X All American, State 4th place as a Sophomore and most important 2016 State Champion as a Junior.
Despite winning my first state title, that only makes my drive stronger! I am going to hold my title by winning my second state title as a senior this February at the state tournament. Through out the years my love for this sport has grew tremendously and I couldn't imagine life without it. My Older brother who is also my biggest supporter got the opportunity to wrestle D1 at Grand Canyon University and there is nothing in the future that I want more then that, no matter where I end up going. I am going to do everything in my power with school and wrestling to make sure that happens so I can continue my success story in the sport I love.
