Hello Coaches,
My name is Will Post. I am a class of 2025 and attend Deerfield Academy in Deerfield Massachusetts. I have been wrestling since the age of 12 and can honestly say wrestling had had the greatest positive impact in my life and love everything about the sport. I am always striving to be the hardest worker on and off the mat and always aspire for others to see me as a role model, not just for my benefit, but for how I could be impacting the people around me and creating an environment where people can truly love this incredible sport. I have fought two consecutive years of injury limiting my time on the mat and am looking to make a statement in my junior year. Two years of injury can be very demotivating and may seem like a massive setback to some people but I look at what I'm able to do and will be working and training hard up until my junior season where my end goal is to bring home National Prep All-American honors. I am willing to do what it takes to broaden my skill set for the sport on or off-season. I spent much of the fall season attending college camps, training in Ohio, and training at school 6 days a week. I also consistently lift in the offseason and even participate in one or two triathlons per year. I have picked up a lot of endurance through training for the triathlons, and the triathlon itself.
I put academics as a top priority and am always looking to improve my knowledge in the academic field no matter the end grade. Improvement and progress for me are just as important as the letter grade. Academic work was hard for me during my freshman year and my course comments and grades showed it. I was disheartened by my poor academic showings, however, I made adjustments to my study habits and fixed my time management to address my freshman-year academic standings. I am making steady improvements academically this year as a sophomore and am proud of how I was able to address my initial disappointment.
Wrestling at the college level is something I work towards each and every day. My skills have gone under the radar for much of the past two years due to injury and I can't wait to show my skills and prove that I have what it takes to be a champion. I believe failure and disappointment make or break a champion and for me to achieve my goals I need to embrace the hard times and keep getting better each day. I would be truly blessed if I had the chance to compete at the college level and am willing to give it my all and then some to whichever school I compete at.
Thank you for your time
