I want to wrestle at the college level to continue to improve my technique, be a part of a team and strive for excellence. I never knew I would love a sport, like I do wrestling. I was bullied in middle school at a basketball summer camp, which turned me off of sports for nearly five years. As a Freshman at Creekside, I was introduced to wrestling and had an incredible coach. I was upset when I did not make the team that year. I found a wrestling gym and went to work at improving my strength and technique. One year later, I made the team and ended up with a Varsity letter. I also received the Heart award because my Coach appreciated how hard I was willing to work. My Junior year I was the 175lb Varsity starter. I continued to push myself and hone my technique, resulting in a 39-14 season where I placed at Districts and Regional, punching my ticket for State. It was amazing to compete at State, and I was proud to go to the blood round. Though I did not place, I was #12 in the bracket. My coach recognized me for being #1 for number of takedowns, and I was in the top 5 for pins. I also was recognized as Most Improved. I earned a 2nd year Varsity pin. I want to study Business Administration in college. What makes me a better candidate than most is my leadership capability and resilience. I bring a competitive attitude and team spirit that motivates others to work hard and continually improve. I am never satisfied with my performance and always work to improve on and off the mat. I have struggled over the years with some classes, but just like wrestling I put my heart into learning and strive to reach a higher level of understanding. My academic strengths are in English and Social Studies areas, which is reflected in my SAT and ACT scores. I'll be retaking my SAT this Fall. I hope you will follow me, as this is going to be an amazing year of wrestling. I am looking forward to meeting you and the team, and working hard as one of your wrestlers!
