I started wrestling in eighth grade, and it’s been a huge part of my life ever since. At first, I just wanted to try something new. I had no idea how much it would teach me and shape who I am today. Wrestling has taught me how to work hard, stay focused, and keep going even when things get tough. I’ve qualified for some type of state competition every year, and this year I even placed at IHSA State. That was a big moment for me, and it showed me that all the hard work really does pay off. The sport has also helped me grow as a person. It’s made me more disciplined and confident. I’ve learned how to bounce back from losses and keep pushing myself to get better. Those lessons have helped me not just in sports, but in school and life too. As I move on to college, I know I’ll bring that same mindset with me. I’m ready to face new challenges, work hard, and keep improving—just like I’ve done all these years on the wrestling mat.
