I love this sport with my heart. I have dedicated a good chunk of my life to wrestling over the years. I started taking this sport seriously about 2 years ago (my 8th grade summer). I first started wrestling because of my parents and coaches told me I was a natural after one practice, then I stuck with it. This amazing sport has taught me the meaning of dedication, hard work, discipline, responsibility, teamworking skills and leadership skills too. I was a varsity wrestler my freshmen year. I tied with the most wins from a varsity freshman in the school ever. I got recognized for it and everything. My reasoning for loving the sport is the lessons it teaches you can't be learned in any other sport. This sport is one of a kind, nothing like it whatsoever. I am learning how to become a leader really quickly in my high school career due to me having to step up for the team this year.
Over the countless years of wrestling there is a lot of obstacles I've had to face. The biggest one was last year, it was my confidence stepping onto the mat. Having the domination mindset and knowing I am better than the person across from myself. It was a mental obstacle, I of course got over the bump in the road, but it had a very valuable lesson that I learned from it. My high school academic goals are high goals but that I know I can reach if I work as hard as I do on the mat to in the classroom. My academic goals are to get High Honor Roll (A's only) and Honor Roll (B's and A's). The things that I would say separate me from other wrestlers is my drive to want to improve and learn. I want to get better and learn how to improve my game every way I can do so. I have a dedicated mindset for wrestling and also, I surround myself with the right type of people. I surround myself with a good group of friends that have stuff going for them and that improve me, not bring me down. I know how and what I need to do so I can be at the peak of my game and those things will be done.
