My name is Elijah Sampo. I am just starting my senior year at Canastota High School in Cantastota, New York.

I have been on the Varsity Wrestling team since my Freshman year. I both love and am very dedicated to wrestling. I am also dedicated to being helping the other members of my team. I finished this year in the 220 weight class for my school. I then competed as part of the Mohawk Valley Wrestling club through June of this year. My stats are available at the following website.

I have also been playing football for many years. I was on the varsity football team for Central square in the 2013-2014 season.. I was at Tight End and Defensive End. I started playing football when I was six years old for our local Pop Warner organization. I continued with Pop Warner until I was in the seventh grade at Weedsport Middle School in Weedsport, New York when I joined the Modified team. . I have played the following positions: Tight End, Defensive End, Defensive Tackle, Nose guard, Inside linebacker, Center, Guard, and Tackle.  have been moved up to the varsity team. I was asked to try out and after two practices with the team I was offered a position as Defensive End. My first Varsity game was on Friday October 5. I was a starting Defensive End and played from both sides of the line. They also put me in as Nose Guard when the Senior Defensive End played. As of October 17th I have also been made a starting Tight End for the Varsity team. We are beginning sectional playoff games. Also in addition to school sports, I have attended football camps at both Syracuse University and Alfred State. I also run local 5K races during the summer months. I have also participated in the following sports in the past: Varsity Wrestling, Lacrosse, Basketball leagues, baseball little league, Weedsport soccer league where I not only played soccer for two years, but I also was a referee for two years for the younger soccer players. My future plans regarding college studies as well as career path is to study in a pre-med program and specialize in Sports Medicine. Last but not least I'd like to share my academic accomplishments. In my freshman year I received an award for being in the top 25 students for the class. I am currently taking advanced classes (Advanced Honors Math and Honors Science) and will finish high school with some college credit. My final average for my Freshman year was 94.6.
